Cherry Bread 

1 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
10 oz maraschino cherries drained & chopped
2 cups flour (white, wheat or any combination)
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoon almond extract
1 small apples sauce
Red food coloring (optional)


Cream sugar, butter & eggs till light and fluffy.
In separate bowl sift flour, soda & salt.
Mix with creamed sugar, butter & eggs
 alternating dry & buttermilk.
Stir in cherries, almond extract & red food coloring.

Bake: 350
Two small pans 25-30 minutes
